What's new in DeployLane

New features, improvements and fixes, month by month. Newest first.

October 2026

Safer storage, clearer errors and Umami 3.4.1

  • ImprovedUpdate managed Umami to 3.4.1, a security release, in one click; new installs start on it. The Umami card blocks conflicting actions while a deploy runs.
  • NewFind and remove orphaned TLS certificates on a server, from the dashboard or through your AI assistant.
  • NewAI assistants can start and stop apps, and domain changes they make go live immediately.
  • ImprovedNew blob buckets get unique names, and an interrupted bucket update or rename can be resumed.
  • ImprovedDeleting backup storage is safer: buckets are never shared between servers, active point-in-time recovery blocks the delete, and a stalled delete can be retried.
  • FixedDeploys interrupted by a DeployLane restart are marked as failed instead of hanging, and stopped apps stay startable for a full day.
  • ImprovedBetter keyboard and screen-reader support: real switches, grouped radio buttons, labelled fields and visible focus outlines.
  • ImprovedHardened how scripts and secrets reach your servers, tightened the MCP rate limits, and kept internal details out of error messages.

Tidier domains and safer analytics setup

  • ImprovedWhen your AI assistant adds Umami tracking, it warns you if your Content-Security-Policy would block it or the app already reports elsewhere.
  • FixedRemoving a web service from your compose file now also removes its automatic domain and DNS record on the next deploy.
  • ImprovedNew servers start on a newer Traefik release with upstream security fixes.
July – August 2026

Managed Umami analytics

  • NewInstall Umami analytics on a server in one click, with its own database, HTTPS domain and daily backups.
  • NewAI assistants can add Umami tracking to your apps, one website per web service, with ready-to-paste snippets.
  • NewAsk your AI assistant about your analytics: stats, trends, breakdowns, top pages and period comparisons.
  • ImprovedBuilds adapt to your server's CPU count, so small servers stay responsive during multi-service deploys.
  • ImprovedNightly cleanup caps Docker's build cache to a share of your disk and removes stopped containers after 24 hours.
  • FixedStopped apps start reliably again, and when Start can't help, it tells you why.
  • FixedTurning off point-in-time recovery no longer risks filling your disk.
  • FixedDuplicate app names, hostnames, cron jobs and backup jobs get a clear conflict message instead of a server error.

Automatic domains and safer deploys

  • NewEvery web service gets an automatic HTTPS domain, plus CNAME hints for pointing your own subdomains at it.
  • ImprovedRedesigned Domains tab: one card per web service, live DNS and certificate status, and DNS problems explained in plain language.
  • NewWith backup storage set up, every deploy snapshots your Postgres database first. Restores rebuild it cleanly, multi-service apps included.
  • NewPoint-in-time recovery takes nightly base backups, with automatic retries, failure emails and a “Run base backup now” button.
  • ImprovedDeploys queue per server so builds don't starve neighbouring apps, and a new push replaces the app's running deploy.
  • NewSee pending OS and security updates per server, apply them with live output, reboot, and get a weekly email digest.
  • NewRun SQL scripts in the background and download the results, or reset an app's database from the Danger Zone.
  • NewNew sign-in and sign-up pages, with account and profile management in Settings.

The first release

  • NewDeploy GitHub repos with a Dockerfile or docker-compose file, auto-deploy on every push, and roll back to an earlier deploy.
  • NewEach account works in its own Hetzner Cloud project. Manage firewall rules, and clone apps between servers, Postgres data included.
  • NewScheduled Postgres backups to Hetzner Object Storage, restores from any stored dump, and point-in-time recovery.
  • NewHTTP cron jobs per app with run history and completion webhooks, plus an email when a job or backup fails.
  • NewBlob storage buckets per app, with credentials injected as env vars. Browse, upload and download files in the dashboard.
  • NewServe several web services from one app, each with its own domain, aliases, redirects and env vars.
  • NewA built-in SSH terminal for servers and containers, a SQL console, and a traffic dashboard per server.
  • NewConnect AI assistants through the DeployLane MCP server to inspect and manage apps, with read-only or write tokens.
